Laryngo-pharyngeal reflux of LPR means acid coming into the throat and perhaps higher into the aerodigestive tract.
LPR has been associated with chronic laryngitis, asthma, laryngospasm, pharyngitis, laryngeal cancer and even eustachian tube dysfunction.
Diagnosis is by history, laryngoscopy and trial of PPI's, BID for 3 weeks, then reassessment.
